For this episode of our 'Building the Future' series, we meet British artist Conrad Shawcross.
Conrad Shawcross tells us about how he first met Norman Foster, and how they collaborated in the Comcast Technology Center in Philadelphia. He created the ‘Exploded Paradigm’ a 18 ft tall piece for the atrium of the building, inaugurated in 2019.
Conrad Shawcross is an artist whose sculptures explore subjects that lie on the borders of geometry and philosophy, physics and metaphysics. Shawcross is member of the Royal Academy of Arts, and has had solo presentations at The Vinyl Factory, London (2014); Palais de Tokyo, Paris (2013); National Gallery, London (2012); MUDAM Luxembourg (2012); 590 Madison Avenue, Pace Gallery, New York, (2010); Jenaer Kunstverein, Germany (2008); The New Art Gallery, Walsall and The Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool (2005), among others.
