Ronnie Heyman
In this episode of our ‘Building the Future’ series, Ronnie Heyman, president of MoMA’s board of trustees and trustee of both the Norton Museum of Art and the Society of the Four Arts in West Palm Beach, explains Norman Foster's work for the Norton Museum of Art (West Palm Beach, USA).
Ronnie Heyman’s first contact with Norman Foster’s architecture was in the late eighties, during a trip to London. There, she was impressed by the 30 St Mary Axe Building, the ‘famous Gherkin’.
She personally met him in 2016, while working on the Norton Museum of Art project. She outstands how Lord Foster respected the original idea, having a clear vision of the past, but knowing exactly where they were heading to. Heyman also focuses on the attention and care he put into this project, even though it was a little one for someone like Foster.
Mrs Heyman serves as the president of the Board of Trustees of the Museum of Modern Art in New York City, and as a trustee of both the Norton Museum of Art and the Society of the Four Arts in West Palm Beach, Florida.
