December 17, 2024
This year, the Lord Norman R. Foster Scholarship Fund was awarded to Arnold K. Amisi, McGill University, Montreal, Canada.
Originally from Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Arnold moved to Montreal to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering at Polytechnique Montréal. Following his time as an engineer, he completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture at McGill University, which included a formative exchange semester at Politecnico di Milano. Arnold is passionate about architecture’s power to shape human experiences, believing it serves as both a creative medium and a backdrop to life’s most significant moments. At Yale, he is particularly drawn to the opportunity to participate in the Building Project and further explore the intersection of design, technology and human sensibility.
The Lord Norman R. Foster Scholarship Fund was established in 2009 by the Hearst Corporation in honour of Lord Norman Foster, with the aim to encourage one or more students who might otherwise not be able to attend the Yale School of Architecture.
