Fall 2022 Visiting Professorship at Yale University Awarded to Brigitte Shim
December 15, 2022
Since 2010, Yale School of Architecture alumnus Norman Foster and his family have been funding a visiting professorship in his name, thus enabling the Yale School of Architecture (New Haven, USA) to annually invite distinguished international architects to teach in the design studio.
The 2022 Norman R. Foster Visiting Professorship at Yale University was awarded to Professor Brigitte Shim, Architect, Professor at the John H. Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape, and Design at the University of Toronto and a principal at Shim-Sutcliffe Architects. She has been teaching at the Daniels Faculty since 1988, and has overseen core design studios, advanced design studios, thesis studios, and courses in the history and theory of landscape architecture.
Norman Foster Visiting professors play an integral role in the education of tomorrow’s architects at Yale University. Each term, the foremost architects and designers lead advanced studios to expose students to the latest crosscurrents of ideas and ideologies in contemporary architectural practice.
