Norman Foster Foundation Presents Its Industrialised Construction System at the “IN< SHAPING > IN” Symposium in Milan
November 8, 2025
The Norman Foster Foundation (NFF) took part in “IN< SHAPING > IN”, a symposium dedicated to ideas, voices and reflections on how we build and inhabit the present, held at the Triennale di Milano on 7 November 2025.
Curated by Camilla Donantoni and Roberto Cremascoli, the event brought together experts from a wide range of disciplines to discuss industrialised construction, urban inequalities, modularity, art and uncertainty. Each contribution opened new perspectives on the future of architecture and industrialised building systems.
Camila Chamorro, Suzan Sabancı Research Fellow within the Architecture, Design and Technology Unit at the NFF, contributed to the event by presenting the Foundation’s work on the Industrialised Construction System. She outlined how, in collaboration with ZETHAUS, a DST Group company, the team has designed and developed a Lego-like modular construction system that demonstrates how industrialised building processes can generate diverse architectural typologies—from individual housing units to entire urban environments.
