Norman Foster Foundation receives the Architecture Award at the IV Madrid Open Cities Awards

The Norman Foster Foundation (NFF) has been awarded the Architecture Prize at the 4th edition of the Madrid Open Cities Awards, in recognition of the positive impact and international visibility that the Foundation generates for Madrid through its activities in the fields of architecture, urbanism, education and interdisciplinary research.
The award acknowledges the NFF’s contribution to positioning Madrid as a centre for thought, innovation and international dialogue around the contemporary challenges facing cities.
In this edition, the Norman Foster Foundation was recognised alongside other institutions and prominent figures such as the Juan March Foundation, the ‘La Caixa’ Foundation, Club Baloncesto Estudiantes, Indra Group and the former Minister for the Environment Isabel Tocino, among others, all of whom contribute from different sectors to strengthening Madrid’s global profile. The awards ceremony took place at the Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza in Madrid.
The Architecture Prize jury was made up of representatives from the private, institutional and cultural sectors, including Manuel Martín Espada, Partner responsible for Markets at PwC Spain; Evelio Acevedo, Managing Director of the Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza; Adolfo Ramírez-Escudero, Chairman of CBRE Spain and LATAM; Hilario Alfaro, President of Madrid Foro Empresarial; Ángel Asensio, President of the Madrid Chamber of Commerce, Services and Industry; Gloria Lomana, CEO of 50&50, journalist and writer; Jaime Pascual, CEO of Savills Spain, Interim CEO of Savills Portugal and Head of Savills Southern Europe; Ricardo Martí-Fluxá, President of the Association of Real Estate Consultancy Firms (ACI); Rocío Rivero de Cáceres, Managing Director – Executive Search at Sarah Marlex; Albert Triola, Senior Vice President Support Renewal Sales EMEA and Country Leader of Oracle Spain; Mercedes Coghen, Executive Director of Spain Sports Global; Alex Ellis, British Ambassador to Spain and Andorra; Manuel Márquez, Executive in Residence at ESADE; Manuel Terroba, Executive Chairman of BMW Group Spain and Portugal; Andrés Rodríguez, President and Founder of SpainMedia; Óscar Romera, General Coordinator for Economy, Trade and Consumer Affairs of Madrid City Council; and Luis Socías, Executive Director of Invest in Madrid at the Regional Government of the Community of Madrid.
