March 7, 2021
The Norman Foster Foundation (NFF) presents its first two publications of 2021, which compile the NFF’s many initiatives that have taken place over the last few years.
Architecture and Technology: Future of Cities is an in-depth handbook featuring a diverse collection of fifty lectures given at the Norman Foster Foundation since 2017 by leading voices in the fields of technology, architecture, urbanism and mobility.
Drawing from its educational programme of workshops, think tanks and public debates, the publication is a comprehensive manual for students that invites readers to explore the future of cities through a broader vision. The book includes an introduction by Vishaan Chakrabarti, William W. Wurster Dean, College of Environmental Design, University of California, Berkeley and a preface by Lord Norman Foster, reflecting on the intricacies of cities’ past, present and future.
Designs and Concepts 2017-2021 is a publication that reflects the Norman Foster Foundation’s dynamic work with the Architecture, Design and Technology Units as they develop a wide range of conceptual and experimental designs on many scales and in multiple locations around the world.
